TimeBank members can offer voluntary activities such as:
- helping people go to appointments
- shopping or doing errands
- decorating and simple DIY home repairs
- dog walking/pet care
- teaching languages
- companionship and visits
- helping with computers
- gardening and much more
Everyone has something to offer – from befriending, listening, companionship to practical help around the house and garden to qualified trade skills. Maybe you’re good at social skills, computers, cooking, pet-friendly, handy with a drill or can run errands – there is something for everyone.
Everyone’s time is valued equally
** 1 hour of companionship is equal to one hour of accountancy advice – one hour of dog walking is equal to one hour of putting up shelves **
Whatever you offer is of equal value – it is TIME that is the factor.
You can use your volunteer hours that you have given by banking them as credits to either get support from other people or to put them in a Volunteer Uttlesford Community Pot to help vulnerable people such as the elderly who may not have the credits to get essential help or support from others.
Join TimeBank as an organisation: employee volunteering has been shown to improve employee retention, develop leadership skills, strengthen bonding and understanding between employees to name but a few of the huge benefits gained. There is also the opportunity for organisations and groups to become mini-TimeBanks and build their own Community Pots. Contact us to find out more.
